Brief historical background, collections and exhibitions of the museum

The Suetsky Museum of Local Lore was organized in 1999. Since 2010, the position of museum director was eliminated and the position of museum curator was introduced, which was replaced in 2012 by the position of tour organizer. Since April 2019, the position of funds curator has been introduced – N.I. Sidorova.

Today, the Suetsky Museum of Local Lore is a branch of the MBUK KDC and is located on the second floor of the District House of Culture building.

Six books have been published based on the memories of district residents about vanished villages, two books about veterans of the Great Patriotic War, home front workers, and "children" of the war – "The Immortal Bond of Generations," for the school's anniversary – "Remembering the School...", for the anniversary of the village of Verkh-Suetka – "My Native Land as It Is," and five books by local authors: personal memoirs, poems, prose, and journalism. The books are illustrated with photographs by local amateur photographers and drawings by local artists.

The main fund of the museum contains items of ethnography, numismatics, documents, printed publications, equipment, and works of decorative and applied art by contemporary local artists, craftsmen, and photographers. Materials have been collected about outstanding people of the district, agricultural workers, teachers, craftsmen, both from past years and contemporary ones, as well as collections of buttons, badges, numismatics, postcards, photos of movie actors, cameras, etc. The funds are formed through voluntary donations from residents of the district and targeted collections.

264 photographs (artistically arranged) of war veterans have been collected for the "They Fought for the Motherland" stand and album.
