Brief historical background, collections and exhibitions of the museum

Status: Private museum.

"Sedoy Altai" is an art and ethnographic museum of the life and culture of the Altai peoples in Belokurikha.

The museum presents a panorama of the life of the indigenous Altai peoples, their way of life, culture, and beliefs. For example, it houses one of the Great Tambourines of Altai – the Tambourine of the Earth's Depths. Guests can take photos in national costumes against the backdrop of an Altai dwelling – a chadyr.

Some exhibits:

  • The Great Shaman's Tambourine.
  • National women's and men's costumes.
  • Walls painted by a real shaman.
